I recently upgraded my laptop to Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit. As many of you know the Cisco VPN Client is not supported under any 64 bit OS. A co-worker of mine pointed me to the Shrew Soft VPN Client. If you are like me and have a whole bunch of existing Cisco VPN Client .PCF files you are in luck, you can import them directly into the Shrew Soft VPN Client. It also seems much quicker connecting than the old Cisco client. Did I mention that it is free?
Check it out.

I tried several versions of shrew recently, and latest version last week (stable and beta) and can import many PCF files fine and it connects but I can not access anything over the VPN. Did you have to make any changes to the settings for the imported PCFs to work?
I’m using 2.1.5 and it works great. However, if you have a VPN profile that doesn’t require username and password authentication (other than the group name and group password) you must modify the imported PCF, click on the AUTHENTICATION tab, and change the AUTHENTICATION METHOD from MUTUAL PSK + XAUTH to simply MUTUAL PSK.
Hope this helps,
